At a service on Sunday 10 September 1916 the Honor Roll at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church was unveiled by Mrs Hugh Currie. It was made of Queensland Maple by Mr B M Wade and French polished. The seventy nine inscribed names were arranged in three columns bordered by a Gothic arch.
At the unveiling Mrs Currie said:-
‘In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, I do now unveil this memorial Honor Roll as witness to the deeds of heroic men who have offered themselves for God, King and Country. So let it be. Amen’ (Inverell Times 12 September 1916)
The service was attended by the Inverell Austral Band and military led by Lieutenants Gilchrist, Farrand and Sergeant Nicholl.
